Our first-ever…
Armchair Photography Expedition
An epic, on-screen adventure through remote North Atlantic islands, where dramatic stone cliffs jut out from the sea…
Come along for the ride as we learn about creating amazing landscape photographs… and how to turn them into an income with professional landscape photographer Nigel Danson
From the desk of Nigel Danson…
I get it.
You want the amazing life of a travel photographer -- someone who’s paid to take pictures in your own hometown or across the far seas. And you want to make a lot of money doing it.
I wanted those things, too, when I was sitting behind my desk at a software company just two years ago, putting in a standard 50 hours a week.
But I got here – to this coveted life of artist/photographer/someone who is paid to do something I love -- because there’s something you should know about me…
Two years ago, at the ripe young age of 45, my heart stopped.
It just literally stopped beating while I was driving in Yosemite National Park, causing my car to veer off the road, hit 6 other cars and then finally a tree.
I lost consciousness and needed to be airlifted to the nearest hospital where I was outfitted with a shiny new pacemaker -- a constant reminder that life is short.
There’s something very strange that happens to you when you wake up on top of your car one day with death and chronic pain punching you in the face.
It forces you to take a good, hard look at your life choices and make some adjustments.
It’s how I got here, quite frankly – to this lifestyle of “paid to do the things I love.”
And it’s why I’m constantly analyzing how to have a better life and enjoy it with my family.
It’s why I switched gears from software to photography and I try every day to make money with my photos in a way that I enjoy. And honestly, it’s why I’m here talking to you today about how to sell your work and your skills in the most time-efficient, lucrative way possible.
For me, the fast-paced life of the software industry -- for someone who owned and created his own start-up company -- is no longer an option.
I can’t sit for long periods in a chair thanks to back issues from the accident. And my body can’t handle the stress of building a startup, anymore.
But for you, it might be a little bit more about hope…
Hope that there’s a life out here for you if you want to do cool things with your photography and your days left on this planet. (I did all I’m about to show you in 18 months.)
Hope that income doesn’t have to be tied to a desk chair…
And the reality that you can make a full-time income as a photographer without waiting a lifetime to see those rewards.
(Before my accident, all my skills were in software and business management – skills that took me to a very stressful place. But it’s a place I can’t go anymore.
So, a full reinvention was in order, along with a brand-new idea to bring in an income doing something else. And I’ve always loved photography.)
But no weddings. No portraits. No headshots. And no real estate photography.
I like those things and I fully respect the photographers who do them.
But what I wanted to do was sell landscape photos and travel images. Images that I like and that I hope others like, too. To travel. To make art. To feel alive.
You don’t hear from a lot of people who are doing that successfully. But through a heck of a lot of trial and error – I found two things:
- A formula for taking landscape photos that people love.
- A system for sharing them with the world that brings in income.
If you want to start taking the kinds of photos you’ve always wanted to take… if you dream of creating a life out of your passions… if you want to see something beautiful and feel inspired all at once…
Come with me on-screen and I’ll show you how to do all of the above while exploring my new favorite photography destination in the world.
Announcing: An Armchair Photography Expedition through the remote Faroe Islands
What’s the first thing that crosses your mind when you stand in front of natural beauty?
For the longest time, I would go to a national park or some awe-inspiring landscape and know that I couldn’t do it justice with my camera.
But the way I think and the way I shoot have changed immensely since I first started. It’s that shift in perspective -- plus a few tools -- that makes all the difference.
It’s what makes it possible for me to make a living doing this – what I wish I had the guts to do years ago, before my accident.
To start taking landscape photos that people respond to… that you love more than any other photos you’ve taken… and that seem to have magic in them…
You simply need to switch your thinking. From the side of a cliff in the Faroe Islands, I’ll show you how to do that. Together, we’ll unlock the potential in you to create the best landscape photos of your life, while we stare out at the stunning landscape of the Faroes.
I’ll show you my favorite images from the trip, and my best-sellers, and you’ll see how to stand in front of beauty… and finally doing it justice in-camera.
The All-Important Business Part
Everybody wants to make money doing what they love, but no one really likes to talk about it. Especially artists.
But then I ran into Great Escape Publishing, where it’s ok… in fact, encouraged… to make money with your skills. Even if you’re brand new at it. And there’s something freeing about that.
So together with Great Escape Director, Lori Allen, we created what we'll call an Armchair Expedition.
It’s an onscreen trip to one of my favorite places to photograph in the world and a look inside my business -- the system I set up to help me earn a full-time income from photography.
You’ll experience all the magic of one of the most stunning landscapes I’ve ever seen -- the dramatic cliffs sweeping down to wild, crashing Atlantic waves… the grass-roofed houses and colored cottages… and you’ll take it all in as I walk you through everything I’ve learned about taking the kind of landscape photos that sell over the last two years I’ve been at it.
-
It’s for you if you’d like to see a truly stunning place this year without spending a lot of cash to get there.
-
It’s for you if you want to “up” your skills and get better at creating landscape and travel images.
-
It’s for you if you’ve always struggled with what it takes to create a truly magic image.
-
And it’s for you if you’re interested in a new way to sell your landscape photos by offering prints online.
Nigel is amazing. He’s smart, funny, ambitious and kind. And he’s selling his photos in a way I’ve never seen before.
I had the great privilege to travel with him to the Faroe Islands – just about half way between the coasts of Iceland and the UK -- to film this armchair expedition for you, and it’s everything the pictures show it to be – epic, awe-inspiring, gorgeous and dramatic. If you get a chance to go, grab it and you’ll be amazed at every turn.
But it’s not for everyone. The hikes are long and sometimes include difficult climbs. It’s expensive and not everyone can take a trip like this each year.
So, I built this program with Nigel to take you - on screen - to the beautiful Faroes and then open up Nigel’s business to show you how he’s making an income at it.

In the Faroe Islands, when you attend "on screen," you’ll learn:
-
How to get an amazing landscape photo with an extra little bit of magic – including how to “read” the location first so you can set up for the perfect shot…
-
The #1 most saleable image you can take right now – an image that means something to the viewer. We’ll shoot one on the side of the steepest cliff and explain why this is an important selling technique…
-
Why I always use my cell phone first -- before taking a picture with my bigger camera -- and why you should do the same…
-
How to photograph waterfalls – using tricks that work with moving water at home in your kitchen, by the seaside, or at a city fountain…
-
The best lenses and equipment to photograph large, stunning vistas and what else you can do with a small investment in the right lens…
-
And how to finally capture in your camera the landscape photos that you see with your eyes…
And more specifically, you’ll learn…
-
Why people buy photos they’re connected to, and how to create that connection…
-
Amazing focus techniques. The Faroe Islands are known for their dramatic cliffs and incredibly vast landscapes. If you’re interested in selling your pictures as stock, fine art or editorial, you’ll learn where I focus my camera so that everything from the foreground at my feet to the horizon miles and miles away is in sharp focus.
-
And finally, you’ll see how I print my work and offer it up for sale.
Here’s a quick peek inside…
Whether you’re leaving on a trip next week, or you’d like to learn how to take travel images in your hometown (or both!) this learning adventure is also brilliant to watch on screen.
It’s a chance to see the stunning Faroe Islands – complete with crashing waves, misty lighthouses, sheep-dotted cliffs and more -- and feel like you’re on one of Great Escape’s photography expeditions without forking out thousands of dollars in expense to take one.
This program is for you if you’re like any of these members who told us what they’d want from an armchair tour…
People like Bev Hart, who are life-long learners. This is a great opportunity to meet a new photographer and try a new style of photography.
Travel writers and bloggers like Betsi Hill who want to improve their photography and make money… but who are also busy with other travel and don’t have time to take another trip this year.
Hobbyists like Wayne Simpson who love improving their skill and want an opportunity to get inside the head of another photographer.
Travelers like Sheri Escobar who are about to leave on an exciting trip and want to know the best way to prepare and take their photos to the next level.
Members like Karen Williams who prefer to travel vicariously right now until her bank account fills up for another trip.
Folks like Gerald Mink who want to learn how to create dramatic landscapes.
Retirees like Elizabeth Coughlan who would like a look at the business side of selling images online.
What it costs…
This course – with its cliffside lessons on landscape photography and a pull-back reveal of how I’ve structured my business – wasn’t cheap to produce. It’s not cheap in quality. It’s simply not cheap.
But it IS affordable. And it is a worthwhile investment.
Workshops abroad like this generally cost $3,500 or more. But during this special offer, you can get in for $499 $299 with cool bonuses, below.
Here’s a recap of what you’re going to get:
-
New photography skills you can use straight away to create stunning images on your travels or right at home…
-
A unique way to experience the Faroe Islands without the expense of actually going there…
-
All my favorite cell phone apps…
-
Specifics on printing…
-
Gear recommendations…
-
A look inside my business…
-
And so much more.
You can also watch it again and again, at your own pace, as often as you like and whenever you want a refresher…
*
If you’re limited in time or budget this year, this is how you can experience one of the most beautiful places in the world while learning everything you need to start doing this on your own.
And here’s why that’s important…
Because life is important.
Because it shouldn’t take your heart stopping or car accident like mine to look at your life and improve it in this way.
And because you really can do this, and I can’t wait to show you how in the Faroe Islands. It’s a stunning place that – on day one – became my favorite photography destination of all time.
It really is that spectacular
Here’s what our very first participants in this Armchair Photo Expedition said…
Try it today and I’ll back your purchase with a 100% guarantee if you don’t like it. That’s how much I believe in it.
You’ll also get three extra bonuses when you’re one of the first to order…
Bonus #1: Purposeful Photo Printing. Printing your images is a big deal if you’re going to sell prints through the internet. I’ll make it simple for you, so you can start printing and selling your work right away with a collection of videos on how, why, and specifics on ink and paper if you want to print at home.
Bonus #2: A collection of my favorite video guides. You can comb through my last two years of photography videos on YouTube or you can just go to the “Bonuses and Favorites” tab inside this course and find my seven most influential favorites. And a list of all the gear I carry with me on a trip like this.
Bonus #3: The Landscape Photographer’s Gear Guide. Exactly what you need and what you don’t to take and sell landscape images – plus, what to invest in first and the little extras that make all the difference when you’re shooting on-location.
It’s a simple click and a one-time purchase. No future fees.
And here’s something else…
Elizabeth Coughlan wrote this in her review of the program:
It’s trips like these, and getting involved with people like Great Escape, that always rejuvenate me out of a rut.
You need that from time to time and now I’m giving it to you, without ever having to leave home to find it.
I’m excited to open up my business to you… give you my best landscape photography tricks… and give you the chance to travel through your screen to someplace stunning that you might not get to see otherwise.
You can use it to plan your next adventure.
Use it to up your skill.
Use it to finally make a nice chunk of change on your photos.
I hope I see you out there one day.
In the meantime, join me online here.
